KREUL Primer for Leaf Metal is a special liquid, water-based adhesive primer for metal leaf and metal flakes, designed to prepare surfaces before decorating with KREUL Leaf Metal or Metallic Slices.

Its liquid consistency makes it easy to apply with a brush. It can be used for full-surface coverage, individual brush strokes, drops or other decorative effects. Once dry, the primer becomes transparent and creates a tacky base to which the ultra-thin metal leaf can adhere.

The product is intended for indoor use and is suitable for a wide range of creative projects, including picture frames, wooden objects, cards, decorative accessories and other interior pieces.

How to Use

1. The surface must be clean, dry and free from dust and grease.
2. Apply KREUL Primer for Leaf Metal evenly with a brush.
3. Leave to dry until transparent – for at least 20 minutes.
4. Highly absorbent surfaces should be coated twice.
5. Place the metal leaf or flakes onto the prepared surface and gently press them down with a soft, dry brush.
6. Carefully remove excess metal leaf with a brush or soft cloth.
7. Leave to dry for at least 12 hours, then polish gently with a soft polishing cloth or cotton wool.

After several days, it is recommended to protect the decorated surface with KREUL Coating Varnish for Leaf Metal.

If the decorated object will be used outdoors, or on surfaces such as concrete, plaster, terracotta or clay, the manufacturer recommends KREUL Zapon Varnish for final protection.
