Jesmonite® Pigments & Decorative Additives

Add colour, texture and distinctive decorative effects to your Jesmonite® castings. This category includes Jesmonite® liquid pigments, metal powders, GlassRoxx glass granules and other decorative additives for creating individual finishes and colour combinations.

Jesmonite® Liquid Pigments

Jesmonite® pigments are water-based colour dispersions developed specifically for Jesmonite® materials. The pigments are fully intermixable, making it easy to create both strong saturated colours and softer pastel or custom shades.

The pigments are compatible with Jesmonite® AC100, AC84 and AC730, as well as other Jesmonite® systems. The maximum recommended addition is 2% of the total mix weight, or 20 g of pigment per 1 kg of mixed material. Higher additions may affect curing and the final properties of the material.

For an even solid colour, mix the pigment thoroughly into the pre-weighed Jesmonite® Liquid before adding the Base. Use a smaller amount of pigment to achieve softer shades.

Jesmonite® liquid pigments are not fully UV-stable, so the colour of pigmented objects exposed outdoors for long periods may change over time.

Metal Powders & Metallic Effects

Metal powders can be used to give Jesmonite® creations a metallic, aged-metal or industrial-style finish. They are suitable for decorative inclusions, surface effects and a variety of creative techniques.

Real metal powders used with suitable Jesmonite® systems can be polished, waxed, sealed or patinated depending on the system and desired finish.

GlassRoxx Glass Granules

GlassRoxx glass granules can be used as decorative aggregates to add colour, texture, depth and reflective accents to cast pieces.

They are particularly suitable for:

• terrazzo effects;
• decorative inclusions;
• coloured and contrasting details;
• sanded and polished surfaces;
• custom textures and patterns.

Choose the amount of glass granules according to the desired effect and the specific Jesmonite® system being used. A small test cast is recommended before larger-scale production.
