Keraflott is by far the best ceramic powder for casting relief shapes. It is the ideal material for casting figures and objects from silicone or plastic moulds. It is also non-toxic and odourless, making it the ideal choice for crafting.
Keraflott is the clear choice for casting powder products thanks to its beautiful, clear white colour. It mixes extremely well without lumps, delivering outstanding casting results. Keraflott can be easily coloured with paint thanks to its beautiful white colour.
Keraflott is different. Unlike Jesmonite, which is only mixed with the company's own liquid, Keraflott can be mixed with water.
Description: Blend of gypsum.
Storage: Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed containers.
USAGE:
- Mixing ratio: 1:3 (i.e. 100g water to 300g Keraflott powder).
- Mix Keraflott 1:3 – that is, 100g of water with 300g of powder. Stir well to avoid lumps. Once the mixture is liquid and free of lumps, add colour pigments, glitter stones or terrazzo flakes as desired to achieve your desired appearance. Then, pour the mixture into the desired, clean mould. Add a little more water to make the mixture more liquid, which will prevent the formation of air bubbles.
- Place the mould on a vibrating plate to prevent unsightly air bubbles. This will give you a nice, even surface.
- Processing time - 10 minutes.
- Remove the mold from the vibration plate and allow it to harden for 30-40 minutes. Do not move it. Once the liquid has hardened, remove your sculpture from the mold.
- If necessary, repair or smooth unevenness caused by glitter stones or terrazzo flakes using fine sandpaper (180 grit).
- Finally, remove any fine dust from the sculpture and, depending on the application, apply a sealant. This prevents oil or water from seeping into candle holders or vases, which can otherwise leave unsightly stains.
- Do not pour any rests in the drain - the mass would block the pipes!
When making candle jars with Keraflott, please note that the flame should not be in direct contact with the Keraflott (no fire bowls). Otherwise, candles can be used as the material is not easily flammable. Only direct contact with a flame can cause the surface of the objects to crack.
Melting temperature > 1400°C.
